Subject: the Hamfest is nearing!


Hello Everyone!

The Spokane Hamfest is rapidly approaching (October 12) and I am writing
to ask you to include a mention of the Hamfest during your nets.  So I
will be writing to you periodically between now and the Hamfest with
items you can mention that hopefully will attract interest in the Hamfest.

In case you are new to these announcements, I write them so you can read
them word for word if you like, or put it into your own words if you
prefer. What is important is that we get the word to every person, over
and over, until they decide to attend.  REMEMBER....the proceeds from
the Hamfest go to the clubs involved, and KBARA is one of them.

The Spokane Hamfest is less than three weeks away.  I hope that everyone
is planning to attend.  The Hamfest Committee asked me to tell you about
three items of special interest.

1.  The door prize is a Yaesu FT-1500M.  Someone will go home with a
brand new radio, just for attending the Hamfest.  Three other people
will go home with new radios, just for purchasing a $1 raffle ticket.

2.  The lunch will be a catered Bar BQ, with baby back ribs, chicken and
sausages on the menu.

3.  Do you have a radio or other ham gear to sell, but not enough to
rent a table?  There will be a Country Store table at the hamfest that
will try to sell your equipment for you, for a small fee.  For details,
contact the Hamfest by email at

Finally, as you know, each club, including KBARA benefits from the
proceeds of this event.  The Hamfest Committee has put out an urgent
request for folding tables, the type that are used at the Hamfest.  The
alternative is renting the tables, which costs a lot of money and eats
into the proceeds from the event.

If you want to be a real hero, not only to KBARA but the entire Hamfest,
we urgently, and I mean urgently need tables.  If you have access to
folding tables, please contact the Hamfest Committee immediately.
